There’s a lot to see and do in the Chaplin Park area! Beach access from these stately new resort homes along Bradley, Burke’s Beach and Singleton Beach Roads is via boardwalks leading through the swaying dunes grasses. The glistening sands here are caressed by the lapping waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Build a sandcastle modeled on your rental home, ride a bike along the shore, fly a colorful kite overhead, or count the pelicans and gulls winging wide leisurely arcs over the waters.
Check out the evening baseball and soccer games at the community centerpiece Chaplin Park, or bring along a tennis racquet and play a set of tennis at the courts located here. There is plenty of parking, too. Then you’ll want to discover Adventure Cove’s new putt-putt golf course and game arcade just up the road, and finish the day with an Italian feast at Carrabba’s.
Look closely among the damp marsh grasses and you will find tiny fiddler crabs with big attitudes, waving their oversized claws at you in preposterous defiance! Shrimp and blue crabs, the Island’s favorite seafoods, are fun and easy to catch along the creek banks or from the sides of the bridge over the large creek running under Singleton Beach Road.
Perch on a stool at the counter in Harold’s Diner, a great old-time island lunch spot, and get acquainted with the locals. And don’t forget to buy fresh fruit and vegetables at Mrs. Grant’s roadside stand on William Hilton Parkway! You may never want to leave Hilton Head Island!
